48-year-old former Vietnamese tycoon, Trinh Van Quyet, charged with $146m fraud and stock market manipulation, went on trial in Hanoi. Quyet, owner of the FLC empire and Bamboo Airways, had $2bn in stock market wealth before arrest. The trial follows the death of former Communist Party of Vietnam leader Nguyen Phu Trong, who had spearheaded a crackdown on corruption at the highest levels.
