UK floor-covering retailer Carpetright saved from administration by rival firm Tapi, purchasing 54 stores and saving 300 jobs, while 200 other stores face closure risk.

Carpetright, a struggling UK floor-covering retailer, has been rescued from administration by rival firm Tapi in a multi-million pound deal. Tapi has agreed to buy 54 of the ailing chain's 270 stores and two warehouses, saving 300 jobs, but 200 other stores now face the risk of closure, putting more than 1,500 staff at risk. The deal with Tapi, if agreed, could lead to the closure of stores in proximity to existing Tapi branches.
