Rotorua Black Power member Ben Tihi jailed for slicing a Mongrel Mob associate's legs in a gang attack.

A Rotorua Black Power member, Ben Tihi, has been jailed for slicing the legs of a man wearing red shoes in a gang attack. The victim, a Mongrel Mob associate, was chased by Tihi and his gang, who beat him and took his red shoes as a "trophy". The man was left nearly bleeding to death and required surgeries to reattach damaged tissue. Judge Anna Skellern described the attack as a "cowardly" act of serious gang violence.
