NLRB withdraws appeal of joint-employer rule, keeping 2020 standard in effect.
The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has withdrawn its appeal of a federal court ruling that blocked its joint-employer rule, protecting the franchise business model for hoteliers. The rule aimed to ease the NLRB's declaration of joint-employment status in business relationships and allow unions to organize by company rather than property. The 2020 joint-employer standard now remains in effect.
