Indian shares fell on July 22, as Reliance Industries and Wipro reported weaker-than-expected quarterly results, causing the NSE Nifty 50 to drop 0.55% to 24,398.75, and the S&P BSE Sensex to lose 0.47% to 80,220.7. The more domestically-focussed small- and mid-caps declined 1% and 0.7% respectively. Volatility rose to a six-week high of 15.5%, ahead of the budget.
