Health & medical groups, including the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, have urged Home Secretary Yvette Cooper to address delays in implementing buffer zones around abortion clinics to protect patients and staff from harassment and intimidation. The buffer zone guidance, introduced under the Public Order Act, was set to be published by spring 2024; however, the groups expressed concerns that the draft guidance does not properly address the issue of "silent prayer" outside clinics.
