On Sunday, July 21, traffic in Vancouver, Richmond, and Delta was disrupted due to a truck rally protesting proposed changes to drayage (short-distance goods transport) and licensing in the trucking industry. The rally was organized by the Port Transportation Association (PTA), a 2019-founded group of companies working in the drayage sector. The changes were proposed by the Office of the B.C. Container Trucking Commissioner to strengthen off-dock enforcement and increase the stability of the drayage sector.
