England postpones DVS and HGV Safety Permit enforcement by six months for new driving laws.
New driving laws in England have been delayed by six months to provide a grace period before the enforcement of new road safety standards. The Direct Vision Standard (DVS) and HGV Safety Permit Scheme, part of Mayor of London's Vision Zero plan, require HGVs over 12 tonnes to meet a three-star safety rating or install advanced warning systems by October 28. Fleets and drivers will have until April 2025 to adapt and comply with the new standards.
