The City of Cold Lake has purchased a hangar at the Cold Lake Regional Airport for $165,000 to establish an Aircraft Maintenance Engineering School, a collaborative project with Portage College. The initiative aims to diversify the local economy and support the aerospace and defense industry, and began in 2020. The City has previously granted $88,000 to secure the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Structures curriculum.
