Brazil's Unigel, a chemical company, demands compensation from Petrobras for losses on leased fertilizer plants, vital to reduce Brazil's dependence on imported fertilizer. The plants have been idle since the second half of 2021, straining relations between Unigel and Petrobras. Unigel is restructuring 4.1bn reais of debt and has been in an arbitration process with Petrobras since December over a gas supply contract.
