Utah abandons plans to use an untested drug combination for the August execution of Taberon Dave Honie, convicted in a 1998 murder case. Instead, the state will seek a drug used in previous executions. The execution would be Utah's first since 2010. Defense attorneys had sued to stop the use of the untested combination, arguing it could cause "excruciating suffering."
