Punjab police arrested three drug smugglers, including a notorious trafficker, Gurbax alias Lala, and seized 1kg of methamphetamine (Ice), 2.45kg heroin, and 520g of pseudoephedrine from their possession. Lala sourced precursor chemicals for adulterating heroin and manufacturing synthetic drugs. As opium production in Afghanistan decreases, smugglers are turning to local synthetic drug manufacturing to fill the void.
