Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft leads the GOP gubernatorial primary race with a double-digit lead in a recent poll by The Tyson Group. Conducted between July 14-16, the poll places Ashcroft at 29%, followed by Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe with 18% and State Sen. Bill Eigel at 13%. Despite facing negative advertising since April, Ashcroft remains the clear frontrunner for the Republican nomination.
