Lightweight champions Lomachenko and Davis will not face off in a unification bout due to broken talks and Lomachenko's decision to take 2024 off.
Lightweight champions Vasiliy Lomachenko and Gervonta Davis will not be facing each other in a unification bout, as talks have broken off and Lomachenko has decided to take the rest of 2024 off. Lomachenko's manager, Egis Klimas, cited the boxer's lack of motivation and desire to spend more time with his family as reasons behind the decision. The potential fight had been scheduled for November with both Lomachenko's IBF title and Davis' WBA title at stake.
