Japan calls for improved information sharing on US military sex crime cases.

Japan demands better information sharing from the central government over the rising number of undisclosed sex crime cases involving US military personnel. From 1989 to May this year, a total of 166 sex crime cases by US servicemen and those connected to the US military were recorded in Japan, with Okinawa recording 16 cases. The cases included 91 instances of nonconsensual intercourse and 75 cases of indecency without consent.
