Deputy Education Minister urges GTEC to regulate unregulated honorary doctorate titles in Ghana to maintain academic rigor.

Deputy Education Minister, Kingsley Nyarko, urges Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to regulate the use of honorary doctorate titles. Unregulated conferment and use of these titles may diminish academic achievement, as it could be perceived as easy to obtain. Nyarko emphasized that honorary doctorate degrees should not be prefixed to one's name, to maintain the value and rigor of formal graduate studies.
