100+ central North Island beehives stolen and placed in Te Puke orchards at night, causing financial and emotional harm to honey producers Smoking Joe NZ. Some hives were split in half, weakening them and impacting pollination standards for kiwifruit growers. Wallace Steel, from Smoking Joe NZ, believes others were involved in the theft.
