98-year-old WW2 veteran George Lewis, who served in the Royal Tank Regiment (1944-1947), finally received his medals after nearly 80 years. His neighbour, Valorie Norman, discovered he never received them and contacted her brother, who had also served in the same regiment. He passed the story to the Regimental Association, which provided the medals. The medals were presented to Lewis in a ceremony at the Royal British Legion Club in Watchet, Somerset.
