Uttar Pradesh's Governor, Anandiben Patel, has officially designated the State Capital Region (SCR) that includes Lucknow and surrounding areas. The Uttar Pradesh State Capital Region Development Authority will oversee development projects and resource management within the 27,826 sq km area, similar to the National Capital Region in Delhi. This initiative aims to address unplanned development and population pressure in surrounding districts.
