Chrysler-parent Stellantis paid $190.7 million in U.S. fuel economy penalties for not meeting 2019 and 2020 requirements, with another $459.7 million in outstanding penalties, according to NHTSA documents. Despite these penalties, Stellantis is investing €50 billion ($54.39 billion) worldwide to produce electric vehicles. The automaker confirms the penalties were incurred before its 2021 formation.
