Two men in their 20s have been arrested in connection with a firearm discharge and assault incident in Co Louth, near Dundalk, on July 19. Three men were injured during the incident, two aged in their 20s were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, while a third injured man did not require hospital treatment. The two arrested men are being held at Garda stations in the Co Louth area under different sections of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 and the Criminal Justice Act 1984. The investigation is ongoing.
