Idaho inmate Skylar Meade, who escaped from a Boise hospital during a violent attack on corrections officers, has been sentenced to life in prison. Meade pleaded guilty to escape charges, being a persistent violator, and causing bodily injury during the crime. The escape took place when Meade was at the Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center for treatment of self-inflicted injuries. An accomplice, Nicholas Umphenour, shot two correctional officers while Meade escaped. Both men are white supremacist gang members and are facing further charges and trials.
