Elderly woman with dementia, lost for three days in Utah's central mountains, found with help of her barking dog.
A barking dog helped save the life of its owner, an elderly woman with dementia, who wandered away from a cabin in Utah's central mountains and was lost for nearly three days amid scorching summer heat. The incident occurred last month near Joe's Valley in western Emery County, when the woman went for an evening walk with her dog and didn't return. Search and rescue crews looked for the woman in the extreme heat, but a Utah Division of Wildlife Resources officer and his police dog, Kip, were able to find her after her dog barked to alert them.
