The UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has ordered Wowcher to provide £4.2m in refunds to 870,000 customers due to misleading marketing tactics, including pre-ticked boxes for VIP membership and misleading countdown timers. Wowcher has agreed to change its marketing practices, remove pre-ticked boxes, and use clear and accurate countdown timers. Customers who signed up to the VIP loyalty programme will receive refunds.
