1st phase of $50M Westside Evolves project begins at Chattanooga's James A. Henry building, demolishing existing homes and constructing 1,200 new housing units with subsidized rent.

The first phase of upgrades begins at the James A. Henry building in Chattanooga's Westside neighborhood, as part of the $50M federal grant-funded Westside Evolves project. The mixed-income neighborhood plan includes demolishing existing homes and constructing 1,200 new housing units, with subsidized rent for current residents. The project will modernize the area's oldest public housing, College Hill Courts, and renovate the James A. Henry School as a community hub, with the first housing units expected by 2026.
