Singapore's MPA coordinates search and rescue for crew members of burning oil tankers Hafnia Nile and Ceres 1, 55 km NE of Pedra Branca.
Singapore's Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) is coordinating a search and rescue operation for crew members of two oil tankers that caught fire approximately 55 km northeast of the island of Pedra Branca. The MPA was alerted to the fire onboard the Singapore-flagged tanker, Hafnia Nile, and the Sao Tome and Principe-flagged tanker, Ceres 1, at 6:15 a.m. on Friday. The Republic of Singapore Navy ship, RSS Supreme, and a Republic of Singapore Air Force helicopter have been deployed to assist with the evacuation of the crew.
