Polygon Labs confirms MATIC-POL token migration on Sept. 4 as part of the Polygon 2.0 upgrade, replacing the original MATIC token with POL tokens. The POL upgrade aims to expand Polygon's utility and power its growing network of aggregated blockchains, AggLayer. Initially, POL tokens will replace MATIC as the native staking and gas token for Polygon PoS.
