Philippines' BOP recorded a $155M deficit in June 2024, down from $606M in 2023, primarily due to national debt obligations.

Philippines' overall balance of payments (BOP) recorded a $155 million deficit in June 2024, lower than the $606 million deficit in June 2023. The central bank cited the national government's debt obligations as the primary cause for the outflows. Despite the June deficit, the BOP registered a $1.4 billion surplus from January to June 2024, lower than the $2.3 billion surplus in the same period in 2023.
