Pakistan Railways increases train fares by 1% for passengers and 2% for freight from July 19.
Pakistan Railways announced a 1% increase in train fares for all mail, express, intercity, and passenger trains, effective from July 19, and a 2% increase for freight and goods trains. The fare adjustment is part of fare rationalisation. In the past six months, the railways collected over Rs76 million from ticket-less passengers in a crackdown with the help of railway police and train staffers.
