Nigeria's Minister of Education amends minimum age for tertiary institution admission from 18 to 16 years after stakeholder objections.

Nigeria's Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, has amended the minimum age for tertiary institution admission from 18 to 16 years, following objections from stakeholders during a policy meeting. The initial decision to raise the age to 18 sparked disagreements among attendees at the Joint Admission Matriculations Board (JAMB) meeting in Abuja. As a result, the federal government is considering adopting 18 years as the entry age for future admissions.
