Montreal's Project Innocence Quebec convinces Canada's federal justice minister to review two wrongful conviction cases.

Montreal-based non-profit Project Innocence Quebec has successfully convinced Canada's federal justice minister to review two cases involving individuals who were wrongly convicted. The organization's recent achievements include securing a new trial for Claude Paquin, who was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder in 1983, and reopening the case of M.R., convicted of sex assault against a minor in 2002. Project Innocence Quebec, founded in 2002, collaborates with the University of Quebec at Montreal to involve students in real cases involving judicial errors.
