5,250 kg of sodium cyanide, a controlled substance, was seized in Kachin state, northern Myanmar, by the country's anti-narcotics police on July 14, according to the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC). The chemicals were found in a 12-wheeled vehicle, and are valued at approximately 68.25 million kyats ($32,500). Seven suspects were arrested in relation to the case, which is currently under further investigation.
