Indonesia plans to launch its SIMBARA online tracking system next week for nickel and tin shipments, aiming to increase government revenue and improve mining governance. First implemented for coal in 2022, this system allows the government to track nickel and tin from mines to domestic smelters. Smelting companies must register the nickel's source and mines, and smelters won't be allowed to unload ore shipments from unpaid mines.
