IAS officer Puja Khedkar's mother, Manorama Khedkar, has been arrested and remanded in police custody in Maharashtra, India, over allegations of threatening people with a gun in a land dispute. The case comes amid scrutiny of Puja Khedkar, who faces allegations of making false claims in her UPSC candidature, misusing her power, and unauthorized use of a beacon. Manorama was apprehended in Mahad, Maharashtra's Raigad district, and will be placed under arrest in Pune after the completion of formalities. The police had launched a search for Manorama and her husband after a video surfaced showing her threatening some persons with a gun over a land dispute at Dhadwali village.
