A bootcamp on a California ranch is helping improve internet access on US tribal lands. The initiative, founded in 2021 by Matthew Rantanen and Christopher Mitchell, provides hands-on training for tribal nations, teaching them how to handle fiber optic cables made up of strands of glass that transmit energy through pulses of light. The sessions aim to address the historic gap in connectivity in Indian Country.
