Boeing agrees to plead guilty to fraud, pay $243.6M fine, and invest $455M in safety/compliance under a new agreement.

The US Justice Department has made substantial progress toward reaching a final plea agreement with Boeing, with the company agreeing to plead guilty to a criminal fraud conspiracy charge and pay a $243.6 million fine. This follows the company's breach of a 2021 deferred prosecution agreement in May. The agreement includes bolstering Boeing's safety and compliance programs with $455 million over three years, an independent monitor overseeing compliance, and Boeing's board meeting with relatives of those killed in the crashes.
