Benue State confirms N70,000 minimum wage, while Rivers State denies proposing N80,000.
Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, confirmed on July 19, 2024, that his administration will pay a minimum wage of N70,000 to its workers, following the federal government's agreement with organized labor. Meanwhile, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has denied proposing a minimum wage of N80,000 for civil servants, stating that the government has not yet taken a stance on the issue and will make a decision in due course.
