Australian authorities, led by the AFP-led JPC3, conducted a National Day of Action to disrupt cybercriminals using SIM boxes to send fraudulent SMS phishing messages to Australians, aiming to steal personal information. Six individuals were arrested, 29 SIM boxes were seized, along with thousands of mobile SIM cards, laptops, mobile phones, stolen identity documents, $166,000 cash, and luxury vehicles worth $330,000. This operation aimed to protect Australians from scams that generate tens of millions of dollars.
