7-year-old William Brown was hit and killed by a van in Folkestone, UK, in December 2023. The driver, 49-year-old Stewart Powell, left the scene of the crash without stopping. Powell was later sentenced to 14 weeks' imprisonment suspended for 12 months and a curfew at Folkestone Magistrates' Court. He had previously pleaded guilty to failing to stop following a collision and driving without valid insurance. William's parents, Laura and William Brown, read statements in court about the devastating loss of their son.
