27-year-old Kiara Monique Brooks, a Birmingham resident, died in a two-vehicle crash on Jefferson Avenue SW at 17th Street SW on July 16. The accident occurred at 6:28 a.m. and she was pronounced dead at 8:39 a.m. after being transported to UAB Hospital. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office confirmed her identity. Birmingham Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
