Santa Monica police used a drone to catch a man allegedly breaking into cars in a parking lot near the pier on the 4th of July weekend. The drone pilot noticed a suspicious man wandering through the lot and witnessed him use a screwdriver to break into two vehicles. The pilot called for officer response, and the suspect was found in possession of stolen items, leading to his arrest for vehicle burglary and other theft crimes.
