Swiss researchers develop a hydrogel implant contraceptive preventing/halting endometriosis.

The new hydrogel, similar to a jelly, swells after insertion into the fallopian tubes, occluding them and preventing endometriosis, a condition affecting around 10% of women. Hydrogels, made of a water-binding plastic, have been used in contact lenses and drug delivery.
