A senior police officer in NSW was found guilty of serious misconduct for fleeing the scene of a car crash to avoid a breath test after consuming alcohol with colleagues. The officer, whose identity has been suppressed, crashed a work-issued vehicle in a northern Sydney tunnel, leaving it damaged on a street. The NSW Law Enforcement Conduct Commission discovered the officer deliberately dodged the breath test and provided false information on an insurance claim form for the car.
