2019 Prime Day week saw nearly 45 out of 100 Amazon warehouse workers injured due to understaffing, "unsustainable productivity requirements," and ignored safety protocols.

Senator Bernie Sanders' report reveals that Amazon's annual Prime Day sales event, a popular shopping event, has been a "major cause of injuries" for warehouse workers in the US. The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee report, based on interviews with more than 100 current and former Amazon employees, found that the 2019 Prime Day week saw nearly 45 out of 100 workers injured, with injuries peaking again during the holiday sales period. The report states that the high injury rates during major sales events can be attributed to understaffing, "unsustainable productivity requirements," and ignored safety protocols within Amazon facilities.
