Vietnamese hackers have launched a malware campaign targeting Indian WhatsApp users through fake traffic e-challan messages. Researchers from cybersecurity firm CloudSEK identified the malware as part of the Wromba family, which has infected over 4,400 devices and caused fraudulent transactions exceeding 16 lakh (~$22,000) by one scam operator. The hackers impersonate Parivahan Sewa or Karnataka Police, tricking users into installing a malicious app that steals personal information and facilitates financial fraud.
