Tech giants Apple, Nvidia, and Anthropic reportedly trained their AI models using data from over 173,000 YouTube videos without permission, according to a new investigation by Proof News. The dataset, created by nonprofit EleutherAI, contains transcripts from 48,000 YouTube channels and was used by these companies to train Large Language Models (LLMs). The investigation highlights AI's reliance on data taken from creators without consent or compensation.
