93-mile Lamoille Valley Rail Trail, New England's longest, is now open in Vermont for cyclists, hikers, horseback riders, and other non-motorized uses, crossing from Swanton near Lake Champlain to St. Johnsbury near the Connecticut River. The trail had been delayed due to flood damage, and one section remains to be repaired, with a detour in place. In winter, the trail is open to snowmobiles, skiers, and snowshoers.
