Indonesian authorities intercepted a Singapore-flagged ship, Legend Aquarius, carrying 106 kg of crystal methamphetamine in the waters off the Riau Islands. Three Indian nationals, who are also Singapore permanent residents, were among the crew detained and are believed to be the owners of the drugs. The ship was headed to Brisbane, Australia. The maximum penalty for a conviction over charges related to the trading of illegal drugs in Indonesia is a death sentence.
