HSBC appoints Georges Elhedery, CFO, as new Group CEO, succeeding Noel Quinn, effective September 2.

HSBC has appointed Georges Elhedery, its current Chief Financial Officer (CFO), as its new Group CEO, effective September 2. He will succeed Noel Quinn, who announced his retirement in April. Elhedery has been with HSBC since 2005 and has held various leadership roles, including co-head of the Global Banking and Markets business and CEO of HSBC's Middle Eastern, North African, and Turkish regions.
