South Korea's drug seizures fell by 10% in the first half of 2024 due to an increase in smaller-scale smuggling attempts. Drug smuggling cases rose 11% to 362 during the six-month period, according to the Korea Customs Service. The number of drugs seized at the border decreased by 9.4% to 298 kg. Methamphetamine accounted for 52% of the total drugs confiscated, followed by hemp and cocaine, each at 10%.
